Jazz-Timberwolves Injury Report For Vegas Summer League
The Utah Jazz are still trying to shake the injury bug, with a pair of first-round picks missing another Summer League game. Taylor Hendricks (hamstring) and Brice Sensabaugh (knee) will be absent for the fifth straight game in Monday night's tilt vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves, while Luka Samanic is questionable with a knee contusion.
Despite two first-round picks not being able to suit up in this year's Summer League, the Jazz have to be pleased with how they drafted with the emergence of No. 16 overall pick Keyonte George.
On Saturday, George put the NBA on notice with a 33-point performance against the Los Angeles Clippers, but it wasn’t just the scoring that stood out. The rookie showed he’s much more than just a scorer by delivering 10 assists, which included seven in the first half.
Jazz Summer League head coach Evan Bradds took note of George being a facilitator after the victory.
“I don’t think he tries to thread the needle, make the Instagram highlight pass, or anything like that,” Bradds said. I think he lets the game come to him and whatever pass he needs to make, he just makes it."
It was just one game, but the buzz on the social media front was about George possibly being the point guard of the future. Utah's currently rostered point guards — Collin Sexton, Talen Horton-Tucker, and Kris Dunn — will ultimately have something to say about that, but George’s name has, without question, entered into the conversation.
The Jazz tip-off with the Timberwolves at 8:00 pm MDT.
