In this story:

Mike Brown revolutionized the Sacramento Kings in his first season as head coach by rallying to a 48-34 record in the 2022-23 NBA season, obtaining the three-seed and ending a 16-year playoff drought. On top of that, the Kings had the most efficient offense in NBA history.

While the Kings' schedule has a massive upside due to their 22 games planned to be nationally televised, the downside is that it has been ranked among the most difficult in the NBA.

According to Positive Residual, the Sacramento Kings have the third most difficult schedule in the NBA next season. The only two teams with tougher schedules are the San Antonio Spurs and the Houston Rockets.

Positive Residual factors in many things determine schedule difficulties, such as the number of back-to-back games, rest time, and strength of opposing teams. The team with the easiest schedule is the Championship-winning Denver Nuggets.

Something that certainly contributes to the difficulty is the Kings' opening games. For Sacramento's first 15 games, 10 of them are on the road.

Despite the difficult start, the Kings have an exciting home opener against the Golden State Warriors in a newfound rivalry after losing to the Dubs in game 7 of the first round of the 2022-23 NBA Playoffs.

The Kings begin their challenging season away against the Utah Jazz on October 25. Their in-season tournament begins November 10 at home against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
