NBA Free Agency: Knicks 'Should Keep an Eye' on Magic SG Gary Harris

The New York Knicks will look to add better three-point shooters this offseason. Orlando Magic guard Gary Harris could be an option with a non-guaranteed contract this season.

It's no secret that the New York Knicks need three-point shooting help.

The Knicks were tied for 19th in three-point shooting with a 35.4 percent clip. However, that number shrunk in the playoffs and was a big reason behind their second-round elimination at the hands of the Miami Heat.

New York should look to add three-point specialists via free agency this offseason, but another name worth looking at is Orlando Magic shooting guard Gary Harris, who is under contract for next season with non-guaranteed money.

"New York should keep an eye on Harris with the Orlando Magic," Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report writes. "His $13 million contract for 2023-24 is completely non-guaranteed, meaning the Magic could waive him at any time to collect the extra cap space. He'd be the best defensive option of the three as well."

After missing 27 of the first 33 games to begin the year, Harris played a big role in the starting lineup for Orlando, starting 42 of 48 games, while averaging 8.3 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.2 assists. He also knocked down a career-high 43.1 percent of his shots from beyond the arc, good for second in the NBA behind Memphis Grizzlies guard Luke Kennard.

There may not be a better three-point shooter on the market, making Harris a priority for the Knicks should he become available.
