Knicks' Donte DiVincenzo 'Can Do Everything,' Says Jalen Brunson

Jalen Brunson praised his New York Knicks and former Villanova Wildcats teammate Donte DiVincenzo.
In this story:

It's far from the first rodeo for Jalen Brunson and Donte DiVincenzo. After playing together in college at Villanova, DiVincenzo signed with the New York Knicks this offseason to reunite with Brunson, who inked a deal last summer.

Brunson proved to be a true building block for the Knicks, emerging as arguably their best player in New York's best season in a decade. Now the Knicks are shaping their team around Brunson by bringing in DiVincenzo, who already has developed strong, champi chemistry with the franchise point guard.

“He brings an edge, a mentality, he’s the type of player who can do everything,” Brunson said via SNY's Ian Begley. “He wants to win, he’s doing whatever it takes to win. He just has that mindset. It’s something that we need to be a better team.

“Not only does he have that mindset, he has that will to win and it’s kind of contagious with everybody.”

DiVincenzo, 26, averaged 9.4 points per game with the Golden State Warriors last season alongside Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. While DiVincenzo isn't expected to play with players on the same level as the "Splash Brothers," his presence should help New York tremendously. Versatility in playing styles can be what separates good teams and great ones, and that was a problem for the Knicks in their second-round playoff series with the Miami Heat, in which they lost in six games.

With DiVincenzo into the fold, the Knicks will look to make their first Eastern Conference Finals since 2000.
