Knicks' Josh Hart Posts 'Sick' Reaction to Obi Toppin Trade

Obi Toppin struggled to stay on the Madison Square Garden floor, but he certainly left a lasting impression on the New York Knicks, including former teammate Josh Hart.

Josh Hart still hearts Obi Toppin, even if the latter has moved on from the New York Knicks.

Hart is staying in Manhattan, back with the Knicks after accepting a $12.9 million player option. He won't be joined by Toppin, whose transfer to the Indiana Pacers has been made official.

That hasn't stopped Hart and Toppin from continued collaborations off the court, as the two have spent time together with other NBA stars during Vegas Summer League action. Toppin has wasted no time playing the part of a Pacer, as he's been seen wearing Indiana's trademark yellow in Sin City.

The departure has made Hart sick to his stomach: one of his recent Instagram stories depicts a giddy Toppin wearing his new Pacers gear, a picture that Hart sets behind a series of vomiting emojis.

Professional and amateur observers believe that the Knicks' return (two second-round picks) in the Toppin trade was woeful considering the big capital invested into his career (the eighth overall pick in the 2020 draft). That's of little concern to Hart, who appears to simply rue the loss of a friend he was able to make in only 25-plus games of collaboration.

Hart might get a chance to rise in Toppin's memory: with the fourth-year man out, the former Portland Trail Blazer is likely poised for more minutes, especially in relief of Julius Randle.
