Lakers Injury Report: Status of 6 Key Players Including LeBron James, Anthony Davis in Question vs Kings
With a tough matchup against the Sacramento Kings tonight, the Lakers have several key pieces on the injury report, headlined by LeBron James (ankle) and Anthony Davis (Achilles).
Both James and Davis have been staying on the floor despite these ailments, with little to suggest that either would sit this game out. Moreover, given the importance of this matchup, they'll likely see it as a must-win and play through any ailment.
On a bleaker note, Cam Reddish (ankle), Jarred Vanderbilt (foot), Gabe Vincent (knee), and Christian Wood (knee) have all been ruled out.
Reddish has been in and out of the lineup due to the same ailment, so there's limited clarity as to what the future of his health and status looks like, but Vanderbilt, Vincent, and Wood have all been out for extended periods.
Vincent was recently cleared for non-contact work, so a return from him in the next couple of weeks is possible, but we won't see him tonight. Expect more news on Vanderbilt and Wood shortly, as it's been implied that both will be back by season's end.
The absence of Reddish will hurt tonight, as Sacramento is terrific at getting to the rim, making a high-quality point-of-attack defensive player that much more necessary. If Anthony Davis can play at a higher level on the back line, however, LA should be able to control a Kings offense that can be fairly streaky.
