With basketball being one of the biggest sports in the world, it is a very special time whenever the FIBA World Cup comes around. Not only do we get to watch some of our favorite NBA stars continue their offseason work but talented prospects from other countries get to play on a bigger stage as well.

We've already seen Shai Gilgeous-Alexander make noise in Team Canada's first tournament win along with Luka Doncic make some dazzling plays for Team Slovenia. However, despite Team USA boasting some big names as well such as Anthony Edwards and Brandon Ingram, the crowd appeared to all rise to their feet and erupt when Austin Reaves' name was announced ahead of their Saturday victory.

Team USA beat New Zealand 99-72 to kick off their World Cup journey and Reaves was able continue 12 points off the bench along with six assists and three rebounds. The offense seems extra smooth whenever he plugs in and he definitely felt the love when he first got introduced... have a listen for yourself!

The 25-year-old guard has revealed multiple times this offseason how grateful he is to be in the position he's in right now and credits all of his hard work in the past. He inked a four-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers this summer worth $54 million and he has had the opportunity to preview some of his improvements with Team USA.

Reaves could continue growing his stock if the US continues to win games and do not be surprised if head coach Steve Kerr opts to put him in some starting lineups depending on who their opponent is. Everybody is taking note of just how impactful he is.
