Former Lakers Center Uses 2020 Championship Ring for Impressive Task
Former Los Angeles Lakers champion big man Dwight Howard has been on a roll this year! He was quite busy putting on a show when he suited up for the Taoyuan Leopards and had full control of the offense and since then, he has been trying to recruit some of the best NBA players to join him in Taiwan.
Howard has also expressed interest in a return to the NBA and multiple teams such as the Lakers, Sacramento Kings and Orlando Magic have all been mentioned by him as potential suitors. He last saw action in the league in the 2021-2022 season with the purple and gold where he played 60 games and averaged six points and six rebounds.
However, the defensive specialist did play a big role in taking LA over the top in their 2020 championship season as he served as a solid option down low next to Anthony Davis and Javale McGee and helped slow down Nikola Jokic in the playoffs.
The former number one overall pick has always appreciated the franchise giving him another chance after things didn't work out the first time following a 2012 blockbuster trade. For obvious reasons, Howard still holds on his championship ring from that unique season.
But he does keep the ring for more reasons than you may think... in a viral video with YouTuber/artist D'aydrian Harding, Howard explained to him that if you touch his ring on a small trophy at the front of his car, it starts the engine.
Harding gave it a try and it worked sure enough!
Howard overcame a number of obstacles to land in the perfect situation where he was able to capture his first and only title. This is just one example of how he honors that achievement!
