Lakers News: Full Contract Information On Jarred Vanderbilt's Fresh Extension

Shoring up some frontcourt depth.

Adding to the moves that Rob Pelinka has made to aid your Los Angeles Lakers' 2023-24 roster, the power forward position in LA seems to be locked in for the foreseeable future after a recent extension was handed to one member of purple and gold.

With new details concerning a new contract for forward Jarred Vanderbilt, the deal has been completed with the rangy frontcourt piece set to be a part of purple and gold for the next few years.

Traded for at the deadline by Pelinka, Vanderbilt had his team option for 2023-24 exercised by the team after an impressive showing to help the team reach the Western Conference Finals.

Though not an offensive threat other than a cutting threat as of now, Vanderbilt's defense is consistently one of the best skillsets on that side of the floor in the NBA.

With quick movement and height to boot, Vanderbilt's ability to guard multiple positions will play very well in the postseason.

Should he add more to his offensive arsenal other than solely his athleticism, Vanderbilt could even close some games for the Lakers come the postseason.

Often left open in the corners on offense, if the forward can work to being a PJ Tucker type player on offense for those three point opportunities, the team's chances to be a more dynamic roster improve even more.

Averaging four points and three rebounds in addition to nearly a block and steal per game in the postseason, Rui Hachimura outplayed Vanderbilt on the offensive end and often closed games.

Both should play big parts in the regular season with their new extensions over the summer, but knowing that defense wins championships could see Vanderbilt fill that role in 2024.
