Ahead of your Los Angeles Lakers' 122-101 Game 6 blowout of the reigning champion Golden State Warriors, fans and media pundits alike were crossing their fingers in the hopes that the infamous sharpshooting "Game 6 Klay" vintage of future Hall of Fame Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson would show up to salvage Golden State's postseason.

Instead, the 6'7" swingman scored eight points on 3-of-19 shooting from the floor (including 2-of-12 shooting from deep), and posted a game-worst -33 plus-minus during his minutes on the hardwood.

Thompson had gotten off to a solid start in their best-of-seven matchup against the lower-seeded Lakers. Across the club's first two games (during which the two clubs went 1-1), Thompson averaged 27.5 points on .465/.519/.500 shooting splits, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists a night. With most of LA's defensive attention concentrated on All-Star point guard Stephen Curry, Thompson had plenty of opportunities to capitalize on more open looks.

He fell apart across the series' subsequent four contests (during which Los Angeles went 3-1), averaging just 10.5 points on .250/.278/1.000 shooting splits, 5.3 boards, 2.3 dimes, 0.8 steals and 0.8 blocks a night.

Thompson has fitfully looked like his former All-NBA self, at least on offense, since returning from a two-season absence due to Achilles and ACL tears, but in these playoffs at least he struggled with his consistency. Here's hoping the 33-year-old LA native recaptures his form next season.
