During their wire-to-wire Game 3 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies Saturday, your Los Angeles Lakers deftly kept the Grizz at bay with prolific scoring and shotmaking courtesy of their two best players, future Hall of Famers LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Davis, who has been turning in terrific defensive performances all series, enjoyed a significant bounce back on offense in Game 3, as well.

Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo Sports notes it did not appear as if Memphis truly expected what they got from The Brow on a night where the Lakers needed every bit of his two-way efforts.

"Not only were the Grizzlies not prepared to play, they weren’t prepared for Anthony Davis," Goodwill writes. "Davis would not have a repeat of his subpar Game 2 performance and the Lakers are following his lead in that department."

"More and more, he’s becoming that player his talent demands and if the West is truly open, Davis will have to do more heavy lifting especially to conserve James’ energy for late-game control," an optimistic Goodwill observed.

"Davis finished with 31 points, 17 rebounds and 3 blocks, but it certainly felt like he had an even greater effect, especially after the Grizzlies’ big men energized their Game 2 win in Memphis."

The Grizzlies' frontcourt is missing two of its four most imperative players, starting center Steven Adams and reserve big man Brandon Clarke, for the rest of the playoffs. Davis is taking full advantage of that, and as Goodwill observes, he'll need to keep barreling into big men the rest of the way if the seventh-seeded Lakers hope to actually make some noise in the postseason.

Memphis will most likely be rewatching game tape and prepping for more traps ahead of tonight's critical Game 4 matchup.
