James Worthy Takes Shot at Lakers About Their Effort Against Kings
The Los Angeles Lakers dropped another key game on Wednesday evening, losing to the Sacramento Kings once again. Los Angeles missed a key opportunity to climb the standings, with the Kings right ahead of them.
It was a game that could have helped them avoid being in the bottom half of the play-in standings, but they couldn't muster up enough to get the win. The year has been filled with much inconsistency from the Lakers and it has caused a lot of frustration throughout the organization.
Nobody knows which version of the team will show up on any given night and it reared its ugly head again. After taking down some good teams in their last few games, the Lakers have also dropped two to Sacramento.
Following another bad loss, Lakers legend and Spectrum SportsNet analyst James Worthy didn't hold back in his criticism of the team. Worthy has followed this Lakers squad closely and was massively disappointed with their effort against the Kings.
Both LeBron James and Anthony Davis didn't play well in the game, which makes it very difficult for the Lakers to make any noise. However, it was close at halftime between the two teams.
Sacramento blew the Lakers out of the water in the third quarter to take control and they never looked back. It's been a similar tale for the Lakers against the Kings all year, where they let one bad quarter break them.
If this game was any indication, the Lakers will hope they don't match up against Sacramento in any postseason capacity. They've shown the ability to take down other good Western Conference squads, but can't seem to get over the hump against the Kings.
This was another idea of the grim reality that the Lakers face down the line. And until they can prove they can compete with teams like the Kings consistently, the path to their goals will likely be blocked.
