Lakers Highlights: LA Falls to Sacramento in Must-Win Game as LeBron James, Anthony Davis Struggle
In a must-win game for playoff/play-in seeding, the Lakers came out flat and finished poorly, falling to the Sacramento Kings 120-107.
For LA, this is the worst LeBron James has looked in quite some time, as, while he stuffed the stat sheet, he finished with just 18 points on 6-16 shooting, being far less aggressive than he normally is, despite a favorable matchup in Harrison Barnes.
Anthony Davis was no better, as while he put up 22 points and 10 rebounds, he was outplayed heavily by Domantas Sabonis, who put up his 23rd triple-double on the season, highlighted by a 19-rebound performance.
Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura combined for 48 points, but an off-night from D'Angelo Russell and injuries to all 3 of LA's capable point-of-attack defenders allowed Sacramento to do their thing offensively, shooting 46% from 3-point range en route to a convincing victory.
At this point, every game is a must-win for the Lakers, starting with the Warriors at home on Saturday night. Here are some of their top plays from tonight:
That's unfortunately really it, as LA struggled on both ends of the floor. Anthony Davis is now 0-10 in his career against Domantas Sabonis, a streak he likely won't be able to end until next season, at the earliest.
