Lakers Applauded For Bringing Back Incumbent Star In Free Agency

One of the best contracts in the league!
In this story:

One of the biggest priorities for the Lakers this offseason was retaining their core of players who helped them reach the Western Conference Finals last season. The team did that and executed their plan to almost perfection. Within that was keeping rising star Austin Reaves.

There was speculation that the Lakers would have to pay a lot to keep him with other teams looming. But in the end, the Lakers got Reaves on a very team friendly contract.

The NBA staff at Bleacher Report graded free agency moves and ended up giving the Lakers a letter grade of "A+" on bringing Reaves back.

"This is a great deal for Reaves as well, who was signing a two-way contract just two years ago and now gets $56 million guaranteed along with a 15 percent trade kicker and fourth-year player option. The Lakers are having one hell of an offseason. Getting Reaves at this number without having to match a big offer sheet may be their best move yet."

Per Bleacher Report

Reaves stays in LA for at least the next three seasons and both he and the team couldn't be more excited. Reaves posted a short clip on his Instagram that said "Laker for life". It was the kind of message that got Laker fans hyped up for next season!

Keeping Reaves was huge for LA and they deserve all the praise. The undrafted player has quickly risen up the ranks of the league and is now penciled in to be the Lakers starting two guard this season.

His growth last season helped earn him a major payday and it'll be fun to watch his career play out. There are still levels that Reaves can get too within his game and knowing him and his work ethic, he will reach them.
