Lakers Injury Report: D'Angelo Russell Status Finalized For Grizzlies Game
It appears that your Los Angeles Lakers will have to make due with Dennis Schröder as a starter for a bit longer.
Though it had appeared possible D'Angelo Russell would make his return to the floor for LA tonight, that will have to wait at least until a pretty winnable Friday matchup with the Toronto Raptors. D-Lo is about to miss his sixth straight game to a right ankle sprain suffered when he rolled the ankle over the foot of Golden State Warriors backup shooting guard Donte DiVincenzo two weeks ago.
On the bright side, starting center Anthony Davis -- without whom LA would have zero chance tonight -- remains probably to play. He's been listed as "probable" to play ever since returning from the right foot stress reaction that kept him out for over five weeks, but generally has opted to suit up for Los Angeles. So he should be good to go unless something drastic happens.
LA will still be missing All-Star small forward LeBron James (right foot tendon injury) and reserve center Mo Bamba (left ankle sprain), plus two-way rookies Cole Swider and Scotty Pippen Jr.
