Lakers Injury Report: LA May Be Without Both Stars Against Houston

Los Angeles desperately needs their star players to suit up against Houston.

The Los Angeles Lakers will be taking on the Houston Rockets on Monday evening, in the second game of their road trip. Los Angeles got the trip off to a great start by edging out the Golden State Warriors in a double-overtime thriller on Saturday night.

Within the game, both LeBron James and Anthony Davis logged heavy minutes. James played 48 minutes, while Davis played 45 to help get the win.

This could see them both miss the game against Houston, especially considering that the team has a back-to-back scheduled against the Atlanta Hawks. In the injury report that came out today, both stars were listed as questionable for the game against the Rockets.

For the Lakers to beat the Rockets, they need their stars to suit up. Los Angeles is fighting for a spot in the playoffs, so every game is crucial. This game against Houston may mean more to try to win since the Rockets are in the Western Conference.

If they were to play against Houston, the stars would likely sit against Atlanta in the back-to-back. It's all about prioritizing games right now for the two stars, and Houston poses a bigger threat in the standings.

The Lakers have been going through major ups and downs all season long, and they seem to have finally found some consistency. The coaching staff likely doesn't want to mess that up, so there is always the chance that the stars play in both games.

We will find out more before the game tomorrow, but the hope is that they can suit up. Every game matters at this point, and the two leaders for the Lakers know this.
