Lakers Injury Report: LA Starter Downgraded to Out, Joins 4 Others on Bench vs Magic

The Lakers are what you would call shorthanded.

The Los Angeles Lakers are in Orlando for a battle with the Magic on Saturday. The Lakers, at 3-2, are looking to keep the momentum going after an impressive come-from-behind, OT win against the Los Angeles Clippers.

However, they will be quite shorthanded for the second straight game.

The Lakers have five rotational pieces listed as out on Saturday's injury report — Rui Hachimura, Gabe Vincent, Taurean Prince, Jarred Vanderbilt and Jalen Hood-Schifino.

We knew Hachimura wasn't going to play as he's in the concussion protocol, and Vincent and Vanderbilt are both out for the next few weeks as they deal with left knee and left heel issues, respectively. Additionally, Hood-Schifino is yet to suit up this season with his right patella contusion.

However, Prince was listed as questionable to play as he sustained some knee soreness minutes before tip-off against the Clippers. He didn't end up playing in that game, and now he's going to be out for his second straight contest.

The Lakers' depth is being tested early, but they'll continue to rely on their superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis to lead the way.

Additionally, expect to continue to see Max Christie make an impact, as well as bigger minutes from Christian Wood.

On the Orlando side of things, center Wendell Carter Jr. is officially listed as out with a left hand fracture, as is Gary Harris with a right groin strain.

Markelle Fultz is listed as questionable with left knee swelling, so stay tuned on AllLakers.com for more on his status.
