Lakers Injury Report: Latest on Anthony Davis's Eye Prior to Atlanta Matchup

Latest update on Davis's status.

The Los Angeles Lakers lost Anthony Davis in the first quarter Saturday to a left eye contusion while facing the Golden State Warriors. Davis' injury left his eye swollen and shut right after his injury.

A day after the injury, Davis was listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Atlanta Hawks. Now, the latest update is that Davis began to feel better on Saturday night and has continued to improve on Sunday, via ESPN's Dave McMenamin

This update does not guarantee Davis will be ready to play against the Hawks but is a good sign that he is improving.

The Lakers would of course love to have Davis back as soon as they can. With Davis out for the majority of the game Saturday, they fell to the Warriors 128-121, their second straight loss. This loss also dropped the Lakers down to tenth in the Western Conference standings, while moving the Warriors up to ninth.

If Davis is unable to go Monday, he'll have a chance to return on Friday when the Lakers play the Philadelphia 76ers.

Los Angeles will also be without several key players versus the Hawks, including Colin Castleton, Cam Reddish, Jarred Vanderbilt, Gabe Vincent, and Christian Wood. All five have been ruled out for Monday's game.
