Lakers News: Anthony Davis' Agent Confident Center Will Live Up To New Max Extension

AD remains!
In this story:

The Los Angeles Lakers parted ways with majority of their young core back in the summer of 2019 so they could pull off the blockbuster trade to add superstar Anthony Davis to their roster and pair him alongside LeBron James. Instead of opting to continue developing the likes of Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball, they instead dealt them away for one of the best big men in the league.

Even though there has definitely been a number of concerns surrounding Davis' health and availability with the Lakers and the NBA community has not been easy on him, he still continues to remain among the best two-way players in the league. LA does not win that 2020 title without him and he has even admitted that the only things holding him back from his full potential are his nagging injuries.

However, he was healthy this past season when it mattered most and that was during LA's 16 games in the playoffs. Outside of eventual champion Nikola Jokic, AD outplayed every center he was matched up against on both ends and regained a ton of respect from fans.

Nonetheless, LA's front office made sure that they locked up their superstar for the prime years of his career as he recently inked a three-year extension with the franchise worth $186 million.

And even though certain critics do not love the amount of money that hit AD's bank account, his agent Rich Paul believes he'll live up to it and that his injuries haven't necessarily been his fault.

“They understand AD and his work ethic has shown,” Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul told Sportskeeda on Friday. “He has some injuries, but it wasn’t due to him not working. It’s not like he came into camp overweight or showed any laziness. There were just fluke things. That happens in the game.”

We certainly are happy that AD isn't going anywhere anytime soon!
