Lakers News: D'Angelo Russell Seems to Take Shot at Darvin Ham With Postgame Comments
The Los Angeles Lakers season has been full of peaks and valleys, with another valley taking place on Wednesday evening. They lost to the Sacramento Kings once again, dropping a critical game in terms of the standings.
It was a close game at halftime, but the Kings ran all over them coming out of the break. Sacramento never looked back from there, taking control of the game easily.
Los Angeles guard D'Angelo Russell wasn't happy about the game and seemed to potentially take aim at head coach Darvin Ham with his comments. He didn't mention Ham, but anyone who has been paying attention knows that Russell was using subtext to discuss the coaching performance of Ham.
Russell has not been shy about throwing credit toward opposing coaches following games and he did no different after the loss to Sacramento. He praised Kings head coach Mike Brown for making life tough on the Lakers in the second half of the game.
It's no secret that Russell and many other members of the Lakers aren't the biggest fans of Ham. Ham has been under fire most of the season, starting with reports that he has lost the locker room in a way.
Players, like Russell, have taken note and have shared their feelings in their post-game comments. Russell struggled in the game against Sacramento, but the way that Ham has managed this team all year has been hard to watch.
The Lakers' front office has yet to make any decision on the future of Ham, but barring another long postseason run, Ham will likely be let go this summer. His inability to make necessary adjustments in-game has come back to hurt this team often and it will likely conclude with him losing his job.
