Lakers News: D'Angelo Russell Teams Up with NBA Legend's Son in China
D'Angelo Russell is poised to enter one of the most important seasons of his career with the Los Angeles Lakers and he is in a great position to not only prove that he is a championship-caliber starter but also should remain LA's point guard for the foreseeable future.
His game is tailor-made to fit alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis and as long as he continues to drill three's at a high-rate while keeping the Lakers playing fast and efficient, fans will realize his value once again and not hold the 2023 WCF against him.
D-Lo made it clear that he is confident in his game and wants the basketball community to recognize what he brings to the floor. LA as a whole wants to get redemption this year after getting swept by the Denver Nuggets and the 27-year-old guard will play a huge role in that.
Therefore, even though it is still the offseason, Russell is making sure to continue hitting the court even when he is on business trips. He recently made way to China along with Dwyane Wade and Zaire Wade for their 2023 Li Ning Tour (Russell is signed to the Li Ning brand) and they all made sure to put on a show for a crowd as they played pickup games against local hoopers.
Zaire notably played for Sierra Canyon High School and Brewster Academy and was listed as the 76th best player in his graduating class of 2021. He logged one season as a member of the Utah Jazz's G-League affiliate team but struggled with injuries and now reportedly is open to a return or a career overseas.
Dwyane Wade recently was inducted into the Hall of Fame and has remained close to the basketball community since retiring from the NBA back in 2019. He is one of the best shooting guards to ever play the game and hopefully Russell has learned plenty from him during their time together this summer.
