Lakers News: Darvin Ham Reveals LA’s Starting Lineup Opening Night Against Nuggets
The Los Angeles Lakers are getting set for Opening Night of the NBA season on Tuesday against the Denver Nuggets. The Lakers will be looking for revenge against Denver, as they get their banner raised following their NBA Championship this past season.
There's been tons of questions all offseason long about the Lakers' starting lineup, mainly the No. 5 spot alongside LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Austin Reaves and D'Angelo Russell.
On Saturday, just three days before Opening Night, Lakers head coach Darvin Ham revealed who will be the fifth starter against Denver:
Taurean Prince is getting the start for LA, something that Ham said was partly circumstantial due to Jarred Vanderbilt's injury. Either way, though, Prince earned this spot as he had a very solid preseason, averaging 9.3 points per game while shooting just under 56 percent from the field and an impressive 45.8 percent from deep.
Vanderbilt remains questionable to play on Tuesday, and even though he's not starting he could find his way into the game. However, it'll be Prince getting the start, as he'll look to stretch the floor in his Lakers debut.
Prince signed a one-year, $4.5 million contract with the Lakers this offseason.
