Lakers News: Former LA Wing Malik Beasley Agrees to 1-Year Deal with Eastern Conference Squad

He has found a new home!
In this story:

The Los Angeles Lakers have a had a busy couple of days as they have been working day and night to bring back some notable players on new contracts and also welcome in some new faces to help round out their roster. Today feels like it was finally the first day where they could sit back for a while and watch their young guys compete in the summer league.

However, it looks like a former Laker has decided on his next destination as Malik Beasley, who was a big part of the huge trade last deadline that saw D'Angelo Russell end up in LA as well, has agreed to a one-year deal with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Shams Charania was the first to report the news!

"Free agent Malik Beasley has reached agreement on a one-year deal with the Milwaukee Bucks, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Agent Brian Jungreis of Par-Lay Sports & Entertainment negotiated the contract."

Beasley was brought in to LA last year as it was hoped that he would be able to become the knockdown shooter for the squad but seeing how inconsistent he was with the amount of shots and opportunities he was given, it just did not work out.

His contract details with Milwaukee were also revealed and he inked a veteran minimum contract!

He still led the NBA in three-pointers made off the bench and in his 26 regular season games with the Lakers, he averaged just 11 points and three rebounds on 35 percent from deep. His small deal with a contending team like the Milwaukee Bucks is likely a move for him to try and fix his value so he can sign a bigger deal next offseason.

Beasley is just 26-years-old and still has plenty of upside. Milwaukee brought back Khris Middleton on a restructured deal and also paid Brook Lopez some well-deserved money... if the Lakers go the full mile next season and make the Finals, they could see the Bucks and Beasley again.
