Lakers News: LeBron James Teammate Considers Next Year Anthony Davis' Most Important Ever
The Los Angeles Lakers have been on a roll as of late folks as they've easily had one of the most successful free agency hauls thus far out of the entire NBA were able to agree to some favorable contracts with the likes of returning key-contributors in D'Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura.
Throw in the mix of youth and veteran talent that they were also able to land through the open market and some new faces after the 2023 draft and Lakers fans have to be quite pleased with all of the work that GM Rob Pelinka has been putting in.
However, the Lakers will only go as far in the 2023-2024 season as Anthony Davis takes them. I've said time and time again that nobody can impact the game on both ends of the floor when healthy like AD can but he needs to pair the consistency of being dominant and injury-free together much more often when the new season kicks off.
Things were picture perfect in the playoffs on that end as he played in all 16 games that LA suited up for and averaged an incredible stat line of 23 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks. He was having one of the best defensive postseasons that we had ever seen up until he ran into Nikola Jokic and a rolling Denver Nuggets squad.
And looking back on the regular season, we all know what a rollercoaster ride that was with some insane loops. Everything changed for the better at the trade deadline but looking at The Brow's health side of things, he played less than 60 games for the fourth season of his career.
Few can put it into words better about how important next year is for Davis than former champion teammates of LeBron James, Richard Jefferson.
"Other players in his position have stepped up," said Jefferson. "We talk about Giannis, we talk about Embiid, you see other players rising and you don't see Anthony Davis because of injuries and roster construction. Now, you have all the pieces you need... we saw how impactful he was from the trade deadline on."

It very well could be AD's year!
