Lakers News: LA All-Stars Anthony Davis, LeBron James Could Skip Warriors Game

Both future Hall of Famers have lingering maladies.

Your 23-23 Los Angeles Lakers' two best players, All-Star center Anthony Davis and All-Star power forward LeBron James, may sit out tonight's matchup against the 19-23  Golden State Warriors, their nemesis during the second round of the 2023 Western Conference playoffs.

This would obviously put a damper on LA's chances, but yours truly is dubious they will actually miss the action, as at this point in the season, the terrific twosome is pretty much always listed on their squad's injury report.

That's the case again now. Per the NBA's latest injury report, Davis is questionable with a bilateral Achilles tendinopathy, while James is questionable due to a left ankle peroneal tendinopathy.

James was just named to a record-shattering 20th All-Star appearance. He's averaging 24.8 points on .520/.397/.742 shooting splits, 7.5 assists, 7.1 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 0.6 blocks per bout, across 34.3 minutes. The 6'9" superstar has missed just five games this year, putting him on track to suit up for 73 bouts, which would be his most in six years.

Davis, 30, has been arguably even better. The 6'10" big man has been available for all but two games for LA while serving as the fulcrum for the club's solid defense. The Brow is averaging 24.9 points on 55.8% shooting from the floor, 12.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 2.3 blocks and 1.2 assists a night.

One would assume Los Angeles head coach Darvin Ham would elevate frontcourt reserves Rui Hachimura and Christian Wood to his first five, should both stars sit.
