Lakers News: LA Fan Hurts Shooting $55K Half-Court Try During Rockets Game Break

An unfortunate moment in the game.

One of the best parts of an NBA game is when fans get the chance to take a half-court shot to win some money. When they make the shot attempt, the crowd goes crazy, and oftentimes so do the players.

It’s an exciting time for everyone in the building and is an added bonus to the game. Many fans dream of the chance to take the shot, but only a select few get the opportunity.

However, at your Los Angeles Lakers' eventual 105-104 home win over the pesky Houston Rockets on Sunday night, one fan's dream turned into a nightmare very quickly. After attempting the shot, the fan seemed to injure themselves on the attempt. You can see the video below.

The fan was attempting to win $55,000 but ended up hurting what looked like their leg. They can be seen grabbing it right after the shot attempt, and he struggled to get up afterward.

The shot itself ended up missing, adding insult to injury. It was a decent attempt, however, and went just wide left. But was much closer than one would expect, especially with the injury resulting from the attempt.

But we all hope that the fan didn't hurt themselves too badly. Maybe once they heal, they can be given a second chance at the attempt, and hopefully, this time they can sink the shot!
