Lakers News: LeBron James Doubles Down on Retirement Talk at All-Star Game
LeBron James made NBA history Sunday tonight as he competed in his 20th All-Star game. The 21-year NBA veteran has made the All-Star game in all but one of his professional seasons throughout his incredible career.
Since coming to the NBA straight out of high school, James has had one of the longest and most successful careers.
However, James is aware that he is on the back end of his career, and that retirement is approaching sooner rather than later for the veteran.
"I don't know how it's going to end, but it's coming," James said ahead of the All-Star game. "It's coming, for sure."
While there have been rumors that James was going to be traded at the deadline or will go to whatever team drafts his son, Bronny James, LeBron did clarify he hopes to end his career with the Los Angeles Lakers.
"I am a Laker and I'm happy and been very happy being a Laker the last six years and hopefully it stays that way," James said. "But I don't have the answer to how long it is or which uniform I'll be in. Hopefully [it] is with the Lakers. It's a great organization, so many greats. But we'll see."
There are still a lot of question marks that have yet to be determined when it comes to how LeBron's career will end and when he will hang it up. For now, fans should soak in the opportunity to see one of the NBA's all-time greats play, before his career is all said and done.
