Lakers News: LeBron James Gives Update on Ankle After Win Against San Antonio

The King has been dealing with a nagging ankle issue for a while now.

The Los Angeles Lakers earned a hard-fought win over the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night, giving them their first win post-All-Star break. While it wasn't as easy a win as many may have expected, the team still got to add it to the win column.

The Spurs gave the Lakers everything they could handle, and Los Angeles was on the second of a back-to-back. Star LeBron James returned to the lineup after having missed the past few games for the Lakers due to an ankle issue.

James returned to help the team get the win, dropping 30 points, seven rebounds and nine assists in his return. He showed again how valuable he is to this squad and why the team has been taking every precaution with his ankle.

After the game, James provided an update on the ankle, saying that it felt good. He understands that he isn't a young player anymore, so anytime he can leave the court feeling strong, it's seen as a victory.

“I felt pretty good,” James said after scoring 30 points with nine assists and seven rebounds. “I was more surprised by how well my wind was, to be honest. But the ankle did OK. Did so-so. I was happy to get out there and help my team win. That was most important.”

James didn't look like he was bothered by the ankle in the game, but they will take caution going forward. Los Angeles is scheduled to take on the Phoenix Suns on Sunday, and it remains to be seen if their superstar will suit up.
