Lakers News: LeBron James Laps Kobe Bryant In Another Career Category After Rockets Game

The King continues to wear his crown!

Lakers star forward LeBron James is in his 21st season in the NBA, and he doesn't seem to be slowing down. While he isn't exactly the same player that he once was, James continues to show that he is a top player in the game.

We got another reminder of that fact on Sunday evening, as he dropped 37 points to help the Lakers earn the victory over the Houston Rockets. It was a classic game for James and a reminder of who is still king.

With his strong performance against Houston, James moved past former Lakers legend Kobe Bryant in terms of career games with 35 or more points. Bryant was at 236 for his career, and James recorded his 237th.

"James is now up to 109 games with 30 or more points as a Laker, and he passed Lakers legend Kobe Bryant on another historical list while doing so. James is up to 237 career games with 35 points or more, eclipsing Bryant's 236, to move into third all time, behind only Wilt Chamberlain (381) and Michael Jordan (333)."

Per Dave McMenamin of ESPN

Anytime a player can pass Bryant in a record, it means something special. James and Bryant were very close, so this likely is a special moment for him. And this just proves that he is still going strong.

James is doing things that nobody ever thought possible, and the Lakers are thankful for it. Their reliance on him is becoming a problem, but he is keeping them afloat in the standings while they figure things out.

Hopefully, others can step up at some point, because these high minutes for James isn't sustainable. But we should all enjoy the show while it is happening.
