Lakers News: Max Christie Delivers Another Dominant Summer League Performance

The kid can play!
In this story:

With every passing Summer League game, Lakers second year player Max Christie makes his case even stronger to earn a spot in the teams rotation this fall. The young forward continues to shine in the offseason games and he is showing some major growth on the court.

Last season, he was seen as a long-term project type due to his raw abilities but the kid has grown up quickly. He has been the best player for the Lakers in the summer league and is earning his keep. Christie is proving why the Lakers selected him in the second round last year and it's been awesome to see.

His growth in terms of his aggressiveness has been the biggest jump. He isn't scared to take shots anymore and I'm sure the experience he gained from playing 41 games with the Lakers last season has helped. Christie is also knocking down shots continuously this summer and you can now rely on him for that.

Even in the one game where he struggled from the field, he made his presence known in the box score. That's what good players do and Christie is looking the part of a solid bench option for the Lakers.

His mid-range game has improved as well and he isn't shy to take the shot. He is exactly the type of player that could really help the Lakers this coming season with his shooting ability and defensive instincts.

If Christie keeps up this level of production, the Lakers won't be able to keep him out of the rotation. He has shown enough to earn a spot and he should only continue to grow as a player.

LA seems to have knocked it out of the park with this draft pick once again and I can't wait to see him increase his skillset as time goes on. He is now "too good for Summer League" and that is incredible for LA going forward.
