Lakers News: Movie Star Jokes That Famous Dialogue Killed Chances Of Friendship With LeBron James
The entertainment world and the professional sports world tend to collide a lot these days and this especially happens in the city of Los Angeles. When you've got the Lakers playing home games smack-dab in the middle of downtown LA and some of the biggest movies each year shooting nearby in Hollywood, it's bound to happen. Some of our favorite superstars use this to their advantage and we've seen LeBron James set the blueprint in this regard as he continues to grow his own company 'Springhill Entertainment' while he suits up with the purple and gold.
However, it's important to remember here that many movie and television stars are basketball fans as well and even though they don't always get to express it in their roles, they have their own opinions as well. But Jason Segel, who famously played the Lakers' former coach Paul Westhead in HBO's hit series 'Winning Time,' actually was give the opportunity to share his own hot take about the NBA world and he made sure to go all in with it.
During a segment of Bad Teacher, Segel went on a rant about why The King will never surpass Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan because of their difference in number of championships.
Segel actually revealed in a recent interview with Variety that he believes James may have actually been a bit offended by this statement that went viral on the internet.
"I desperately want LeBron James to like me in real life," said Segel. "And I think that this quote may have actually offended him because it was on every commercial and it was like a thing. I really regret saying this."

Segel is one of the most respected actors in his field right now and he is connected to the Lakers franchise due to his work on 'Winning Time' so hopefully the two can talk thing out one day!
