Lakers News: Multiplatinum Star Believes Ex-LA Lottery Pick Will Be 2024 All-Star
When the Los Angeles Lakers drafted a skinny, three-level scorer out of Duke university, everybody was looking at hime immediately labeling him as the next Kevin Durant. We very well may never see another player quite like KD (seven feet, guard-like handles, silky-smooth jumper) but man, this guy is pretty close.
That would be none other than Brandon Ingram of course. The improvements that he made in just his first to second year in LA were evident as he spent hours breaking down film and learning how he could use his physical traits to their full ability to easily shoot over others. And the fact of the matter is that the blockbuster Anthony Davis trade does not get done without BI and once LeBron James comes into town, very few names are safe on the market.
But I strongly believe that I speak for all Lakers fans when I say that we are beyond proud to see what Ingram has blossomed into in New Orleans. Since touching down there in 2019, he has never had a season where he's averaged less than 22 points and he also shot a career-high 39 percent from three last season. The Pelicans have gone through numerous roster changes and have done their best to get him some help but BI has stayed consistent through it all cashed in on an All-Star appearance in 2020 along with the Most Improved Award.
Zion Williamson has a lot on his plate right now but the Western Conference certainly would be even more interesting if he can last majority of next season on the court next to Ingram. Rapper Juvenile hopes too more of this duo in 2023 as well and believes that BI could add another All-Star appearance to his belt.
“Brandon’s a baller. He a baller. I think he’s All-Star material this year, I think he should get a lot of votes this year, the fact that he stays in attack mode like it’s his team, I just wanna see him and Zion gel together. I would love to see them play at least 2 or 3 games consecutively together without getting hurt.”
We also look forward to those matchups against our former lottery pick!
