Lakers News: Only One LA Player Makes Austin Reaves’ List Of Top 5 Shooting Guards

Interesting list here from Austin..
In this story:

As the NBA offseason opened, it was no secret that the Los Angeles Lakers were hellbent on bringing back restricted free agent Austin Reaves. The un-drafted guard had made a name for himself with the organization over his first two seasons and saw major growth during his second year. He became the third-best player on the team during their postseason run, so it was crucial for them to bring him back.

However, due to a poison pill rule restriction, the Lakers were capped on how much they could offer him. They could match any deal that came his way due to his restricted status, and there was fear that some team could have offered him about twice what LA could have. Luckily for LA, nobody offered him the massive deal but Reaves recently said that he considered possibly signing with a different team this offseason.

The guard returns to the Lakers and has been making all sorts of media rounds lately. Reaves recently talked about his top shooting guards in NBA history on the All the Smoke Podcast and only listed one Lakers player within that. You can see his list below!

Honestly, his list seems pretty accurate to me. The only questionable one is former Portland Trail Blazer Brandon Roy but Roy was a pure bucket when he was healthy. You could make the argument for Tracy McGrady, Clyde Drexler, George Gervin, or Reggiler Miller among names.

Some may scoff at the inclusion of Harden, but despite how people feel about him, he is one of the greatest scorers of all time. His ability to get to the rim or step back and drain and three has been fun to watch.

I don't have much problem with this list as Reaves list is his and these tend to be subjective. As long as Kobe Bryant made the cut, Laker fans will be happy here.
