Lakers News: Raptors, LA Announce Starting Lineups For Tonight

A clash of sub-.500 play-in hopefuls!

Your Los Angeles Lakers and the Toronto Raptors have announced their first fives ahead of their clash tonight.

The Raptors have announced through their official X/Twitter account that they will start Immanuel Quickley (who has replaced ex-Laker Dennis Schröder) at the point, Quickley’s fellow ex-Knick RJ Barrett at shooting guard, former Rookie of the Year Scottie Barnes at small forward, All-Star Pascal Siakam at power forward, and Thaddeus Young stepping in for an injured Jakob Poeltl at center.

The Lakers have revealed on their own X/Twitter page, meanwhile, will run back the starting lineup that helped them beat the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday night: Austin Reaves will start at point guard, 3-and-D wing Taurean Prince will remain at shooting guard, Cam Reddish will start for the injured Rui Hachimura at small forward, All-NBA superstar LeBron James will start at power forward, and Defensive Player of the Year hopeful Anthony Davis will jump at the five spot.

Both clubs have had a rough go of it to start the 2023-24 season (LA is 18-19, Toronto 15-21), although that was fairly expected on the Raptors side of the equation, given that the club finished as the ninth seed in the East last year and missed the playoffs.
