Lakers News: Rookie Has Crazy Revelation About This LeBron James Anniversary Last Night

Pretty bonkers.

Following an ultimately unsuccessful 132-127 overtime loss against the run-and-gun offensive explosion of the young and athletic Sacramento Kings Sunday night, Los Angeles Lakers All-Star forward LeBron James reflected in the visitors' locker room at Golden 1 Center postgame about the full-circle moment of playing Sacramento 20 years -- to the day -- removed from his first-ever NBA game, a 106-92 Cleveland Cavaliers loss on October 29th, 2003.

When he heard the date of the matchup from the next locker, rookie swingman Jalen Hood-Schifino, whom LA selected with the No. 17 pick out of Indiana during this past summer's NBA draft, weighed in with a surprising revelation, per Dan Woike of The Los Angeles Times.

“I was a baby!” Hood-Schifino noted.

Hood-Schifino was only seven days old when James was selected with the No. 1 overall pick in a historically great 2003 draft. He was just four months old when James scored 25 points on 12-of-20 shooting from the floor and 1-of-3 shooting from the charity stripe, dished out nine dimes, pulled down six boards, and swiped four steals as an 18-year-old prep-to-pro phenom.

And now they're teammates. That's how old LeBron James is. The fact that he remains unquestionably one of the league's best 30 or so players, even as its oldest current player, is completely insane. The fact that he has a teammate whose entire life has barely lasted longer than James' NBA career is, similarly, completely insane.
