Lakers News: Shaquille O’Neal Reacts To Perceived Jeannie Buss Diss
When it comes to naming some of the most successful and cherished franchises in all of sports, the Los Angeles Lakers will be among the top of most lists. They have 17 championships to their name, have an endless amount of All-Stars that have suited up for them through the decades and have truly made the most of the massive Los Angeles market.
When it comes to naming the greatest Lakers of all time, this is where people usually have a tough time. Due to so many transcendent names leading the way in different eras of basketball, there seems to be a different set of expectations for each of them. Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson and Kareem-Abdul Jabbar are always usually foregone conclusions but after that, it gets a little tough.
Pau Gasol has quite the case considering that he was number two behind Bryant on both of their championship teams and the Black Mamba has made it clear that they would not have won either without him. Shaquille O'Neal and James Worthy are also up there as well.
President of the Lakers, Jeanie Buss, actually compiled her own list and ranked the most 'Important' players to ever contribute to the purple and gold and some of her answers may surprise you. Kobe Bryant came in at number one followed by Kareem at two and then, she opted to put LeBron James at three despite only having five seasons under his belt with the franchise.
Magic Johnson was then named number four and her final slot was not given to a player but instead former head coach Phil Jackson, who helped lead five different rosters in LA to titles. One name obviously left out here was the The Big Diesel and he took to Instagram to share his reaction.
Shaq has accomplished plenty in his NBA career, especially with the Lakers, but it seems like Buss has a couple other names above him!
