As Los Angeles All-Star forward LeBron James continues to defy age and cement his legacy in his 21st NBA season, the inevitable question looms: when will he hang up his jersey for good? At 39 years old, he's still playing out of his mind.

However, Father Time is undefeated, and James knows that his playing days are numbered. However, before he bids farewell to the beautiful game, there's one dream he's yet to fulfill: playing alongside his eldest son, Bronny James.

The prospect of witnessing a father-son duo take the court together is undoubtedly intriguing, but not everyone is convinced it's the best move for Bronny's career. Former NBA guard Austin Rivers recently voiced his skepticism on ESPN's NBA Today, expressing concerns about the potential impact on Bronny's development.

“I don’t want to see Bronny play with his dad," Rivers said. "I went through something similar… What happens is that everyone starts to discredit everything that you’ve done… I don’t want that negativity to come his way, he doesn’t deserve it.”

And I have to say, I share those concerns.

First and foremost, Bronny is still a USC freshman, and his performance on the court suggests he's not quite NBA-ready. Jumping to the professional level prematurely could hinder his growth as a player. While playing alongside his father may seem like a dream scenario, it's crucial to consider whether it aligns with Bronny's own aspirations and ambitions.

LeBron's influence in the basketball world is undeniable, and his presence on a team would undoubtedly overshadow his son's individual journey. Bronny needs the space to carve out his path and establish himself as a player outside his father's legacy.

Ultimately, the decision lies in Bronny's hands. Does he share his father's dream of playing together in the NBA, or does he want to create his own legacy?

Only time will tell. Bronny's move will be an anticipated one, and we'll see if LeBron will join him.
