Lakers News: LeBron James Sends Message Of Support To Ailing Sportswriter
As the Lakers star LeBron James sits out in recovery from his foot injury, he showed support to veteran sportswriter Jeff Zillgitt, another member of the NBA community who is enduring an ailment of his own.
Zillgitt has covered the NBA for USA Today since 1995, where he has reported for various NBA Finals and conducted interviews with many star players including LeBron James himself.
James and Zillgitt have formed a close relationship over the course of their careers in the league, so the four-time NBA champion made it a point to share some words of encouragement in regard to Zillgitt’s recovery.
My wishes for a speedy recovery to one of the best in the business @JeffZillgitt. The game ain’t the same with both is us out. But I know you’ll beat me back out there and inspire me to get back right then and there! 🙏🏾

Although the specific ailment was not specified, Zillgitt has a history of illnesses in the past. In 2015, the reporter underwent successful surgery for a cancerous tumor that was found in his colon.
During that time, the King also shared an uplifting tweet for the sportswriter.
Wishing JZ-one of the good dudes I work with a safe and healthy recovery from surgery. See you at camp Champ!

LeBron will aim to carry the same positive outlook for himself as he goes through his own recovery process from the right foot injury that will keep him sidelined for at least the next few weeks.
