Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves has been playing for Team USA this summer at the FIBA Basketball World Cup, and he has been showing out. His play has helped the American squad reach the semi-finals, and they now have a chance for the gold.

With this tournament going on, it has sparked much debate about who the best American players are right now. It’s a hard thing to pick from as there are so many talented players in the NBA.

But The Ringer put NBA veteran Austin Rivers on the spot and asked for his ideal top-six American players from the league today. Among the players that Rivers picked were LeBron James and Anthony Davis. You can see his entire reasoning below!

Having James and Davis on Team USA would be super fun to watch, especially after the way they have bonded during their time with the Lakers. It would be special to see multiple LA players representing Team USA in that manner as well.

Los Angeles fans would buy so much Team USA merch, so they should think about offering them spots on the team just for that reason alone.

Some of the other players that Rivers picked were Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors, Bam Adebayo of the Miami Heat and both Kevin Durant and Devein Book of the Phoenix Suns. It’s a star-studded top part of the team for Rivers, but one that would likely dominate in play together.

It would be really awesome to see these guys all take the floor together to represent the United States, and maybe we get to see it one day. Rivers put together a very solid list of players for his roster, and it’s fun to just think about the beauty that would be on display here.
