Lakers News: Sports Legend Details Kobe Bryant’s Special Connection With LA
The Los Angeles Lakers continue to honor Kobe Bryant's legacy and impact on the franchise every single year and with so much exciting news coming out recently regarding his sneaker line and incoming statue outside of Crypto.com Arena, fans have been super excited to get involved as much as possible.
Bryant always made sure to support other sports as well and particularly built special bonds with other superstar athletes that suited up for the city of Los Angeles around the same time as him.
David Beckham is widely recognized as one of the greatest soccer players of all time and suited up for a number of remarkable F.B. clubs during his playing days such as the LA Galaxy, Manchester United, Real Madrid and more.
He was able to capture six Premier League titles along with two FA Cups and a European Cup and in a recent interview with The Overlap, Beckham detailed Bryant's connection with the city of Los Angeles and named him as his favorite basketball player.
"Kobe because I was in LA and at a time where he was unbelievable," said Beckham. "He was always unbelievable. The championships that they were winning at that time, the rivalry between Lakers and the Celtics, Kobe was just a different animal."

It was definitely a very special time for sports in Los Angeles when Beckham and Bryant were going to work for their respective franchises. Bryant actually grew up playing soccer when he lived in Italy and he showed love to Beckham a number of times when he competed for the Galaxy.
