Watch New Laker Cam Reddish Destroy Competition in Summer Open Runs

Getting ready for the new season!
In this story:

The Los Angeles Lakers opted to give Cam Reddish a shot this summer by signing him to a veteran's minimum contract after he has not been able to find his place in the NBA after being a lottery pick in the 2019 draft. The basketball world still seems to fully believe in him and LA had reportedly been trying to nab him via the trade market for multiple years now.

The numbers do not look great on Reddish's end as he was poised as being a sharpshooter coming into the league but has yet to shoot over 38 percent from deep in a single season for his career. However, he is just 23-years-old and seeing that he is 6'7 with long arms and the physical tools to impact the game on both ends, this was a no-brainer for the purple and gold.

Everybody's situation is different but Malik Monk was given up on by the Charlotte Hornets before finding a nice role with the Lakers and cashing in on a nice deal after his lone season there. Lonnie Walker IV also proved what he could do in the bright lights and maybe Reddish is next. Nothing will be easy though because LA is deeper than ever at their wing positions.

And Reddish has hit the ground running this summer as he took part in some recent pickup games at the Overtime Elite training facility along with NBA star Anthony Edwards and other top competition. It's safe to say he was looking quite comfortable.

When Reddish does get minutes, his role will be simple off the jump. He needs to hit open shots and defend hard on the other hand. He'll have to gain the trust of the coaching staff before iso possessions come his way and that's when things can get very special.
