BREAKING: Magic Re-Signs Admiral Schofield

The Orlando Magic is re-signing Admiral Schofield, who played 37 games for the team this season.

ORLANDO - The Orlando Magic is bringing back a familiar face.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Magic is signing Admiral Schofield to a two-way contract.

Schofield played in 37 games for the Magic this season averaging 4.7 points and was transferred to a standard deal from his two-way contract midway through the season. However, his option wasn't picked up and he became a free agent. Now, he's back in the fold.

Schofield played in 75 games for the Magic in the past two seasons. He is on the team for his defense and energy off the bench, something Orlando could continue to utilize in the upcoming season.

That defense and energy have taken notice around the league as Schofield was listed by multiple anonymous NBA players as someone they would least like to fight in a survey curated by The Athletic earlier this offseason. Schofield got the same amount of votes as reigning Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Smart, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Oklahoma City Thunder wing Luguentz Dort, one of the most difficult defenders in the league.

The Magic clearly value Schofield and what he brings to the table, which is evidenced in bringing him back on a two-way deal rather than sign someone younger with a higher ceiling.

Now, with Schofield and Kevon Harris occupying two of the two-way contracts, one more slot remains.
