Nets vs. Magic: 3 Best Bets

The Brooklyn Nets visit the Orlando Magic tonight.

For the third time this season and the first time at home, the Orlando Magic face off against the Brooklyn Nets. The Magic is 0-2 against Brooklyn this season, but the Nets have lost seven of their last ten.

Orlando was shorthanded in their most recent loss to the Atlanta Hawks, and are hoping to get some star power back tonight. Brooklyn has committed to tanking this season after firing head coach Jacque Vaughn.

Orlando has both Jonathan Isaac and Paolo Banchero listed as questionable tonight. Cam Thomas is questionable for Brooklyn, and Ben Simmons and Dariq Whitehead are both out.

The Lines

Point spread: Nets +8.5 (-110)/Magic -8.5 (-118)

Money line: Nets (+300)/Magic (-400)

Over/under: 212.5

Our Picks

Safe pick: Franz Wagner OVER 19.5 points (-125)

Regardless of whether Banchero plays or not, Franz Wagner should be able to hit this line. He scored 20 and 21 points in the previous two games against the Nets and scored 19 points on Sunday against the Hawks, although it was clear after the game that he would make adjustments if he had to play without Banchero again.

Opponent pick: Mikal Bridges OVER 20.5 points (-125)

Over his last three games, Bridges has been in a bit of a slump. Shooting only 21.4 percent from behind the arc and averaging only 15.7 points per game, Bridges is in a funk. Unfortunately for Orlando, he's had their number all year, scoring 21 and 42 points on the Magic earlier this season. Orlando's stellar defense is yet to stop Bridges, and tonight should be no different.

Power Rankings: Magic Climbing After Banchero Heroics?

Team pick: OVER 212.5 total points (-118)

In the two games these teams have played this season, we are yet to see a game come in under 220 combined points. In the six games these teams have played since the All-Star Break, half of them have come in under this line, but with Wagner and Bridges poised for big scoring nights, expect the over to hit.
