ORLANDO - April Fools' weekend is a prime opportunity to pull a prank on someone. And whether it was in spirit of the holiday or not, NBA TV analyst Greg Anthony definitely gave Orlando Magic fans a scare.

Scrolling through a Twitter thread where Cole Anthony's impact was up for debate, Greg decided to chime in with some sarcasm when a user tweeted that paying Cole $15 million would give the Magic a "middle of the pack roster."

"I agree with this person…he really knows his stuff. I mean maybe just trade him," Greg Anthony tweeted in response.

The user then responded that Greg "doesn't think he wants his son in Orlando anymore," but the former New York Knicks point guard quickly put that rumor to rest.

"Don’t speak for me especially after you trashed my son, Anthony tweeted. "Just continue to fill the twitter verse with your bball analysis. Cole will be just fine, if it’s Orlando that would be great, if it’s not, that will be ok as well."

A father wants the best for his son ... a very reasonable desire. I'm sure Greg would want the Magic to succeed since his son plays for the team, but he'll support his child over anybody.

Greg also doubled down on his son's commitment to the Magic in a final tweet regarding the issue.

"This is for all Orlando Magic fans…Cole love’s [sic] the team, city and organization…none of what any fan says will have any bearing on Cole. The focus for everyone on the team is to get better," Greg tweeted.

Greg should be proud of his son Cole because he is improving.

The younger Anthony is averaging 12.9 points per game while shooting a career-best 45.2 percent from the field and just over 36 percent from beyond the three-point line. He is among the league's best scorers off the bench and continues to help the Magic get better.
