The Orlando Magic might have turned the corner in its rebuild, but the team may not be out of the lottery days, yet. There's a chance Orlando narrowly misses postseason play, and one injury could completely pull the team out of the competition.

CBS Sports released its early 2024 NBA Mock Draft. With a mock draft this early, it's hard to gauge draft order. In this specific mock draft, the Magic selects at pick No. 3. With the jump the Magic could easily take, it's hard to imagine the team lands a top-five pick. Here's what CBS Sports had to say about USC point guard Isaiah Collier, the Magic's mock selection:

"With Orlando's frontcourt all but solidified, it looks to pair top-10 guard pick Anthony Black next to another facilitator here with Collier," CBS Sports writes. "Collier was briefly the No. 1 player in the 2023 class before finishing at No. 2. He's set to be the star attraction for a talent-laden Trojans team in 2023."

Landing a talent like Collier would all but solidify that the Magic has finally reached the point of no return with its rebuild. Pairing Collier with Black, Franz Wagner, Paolo Banchero and the rest of their young core would essentially push the Magic into a situation where it simply throws talent on the court, see what fits and let the results come over time.

Collier and Black would be able to share the playmaking role alongside each other, allowing both players to contribute outside of sharing the ball. The two would allow Wagner and Banchero to add their contributions to the offense with ease.

Adding more playmaking guards that add versatility to the offense is a proven method in the NBA, as long as the two guards can play off each other, the pairing should work out. The young core would be one of the best in the league if this pairing is able to come to fruition.
