NBA Trade Rumors: Magic 'Monitoring' Raptors' Pascal Siakam?

Pascal Siakam could be the biggest player on the trade market soon. Could the Toronto Raptors trade him to the Orlando Magic?
In this story:

ORLANDO - The Orlando Magic has a full roster ready to go for the regular season, but that doesn't mean the team cannot scan the trade market for potential upgrades.

According to Sportsnet, the Magic is a team linked to Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam, who has been floating around in trade rumors all offseason.

"Per league sources, the Raptors are still listening, trying to gauge the market value for their leading scorer and leading returning – in theory – playmaker," Sportsnet writes. "Atlanta remains a possibility, Indiana has reached out while Orlando is another team that bears watching."

Siakam, 29, averaged a career-high 24.2 points per game this past season for the Raptors, making his second All-Star appearance in seven NBA campaigns with Toronto.

The Cameroonian power forward is set to become a free agent at the end of the season, and given Toronto's direction as a flailing contender after missing the playoffs and losing Fred VanVleet in free agency to the Houston Rockets, the Raptors have value in trading him elsewhere.

The Magic probably likes Siakam given his size and all-around playmaking ability, but it's hard to see how he would coexist in a system with Paolo Banchero, a younger version of him with higher upside and a cheaper contract.

The Magic can still monitor the situation, but it seems unlikely that Orlando would pull the trigger.
