Magic PG Anthony Black 'Poise' Sticking Out in Summer League
Orlando Magic guard Anthony Black continues to impress
The former Arkansas Razorback likely had the play of the game in Monday night's loss to Indiana Pacers.
The No. 6 selection in last month's draft, Black corralled a Pacers missed three-point attempt before taking three dribbles and firing a two-handed chest pass to a sprinting D.J Wilson for an easy dunk.
And plays like that - ones that make the players around him better - is what exactly made the former Razorback a lottery pick.
"He's someone that super easy to play with," Magic guard Caleb Houstan said. "He makes everyone's job easier, being able to get into the paint and have everyone pull in and then make easy passes or finish for himself."
"His poise level is really high," Magic coach Dylan Murphy said. "I felt like when things were kind of getting a little sketchy for us and a little discombobulated, he was really able to kind of calm this group down, share the ball, make good plays and then it helps when you make shots to get your confidence going."
And that combination of demeanor and basketball IQ is a big reason why Orlando is ecstatic to add the 6-7 guard to its young core.
