Magic Dominates Nets Ends Losing Streak

The Magic dominated the Nets to get a win at home and end its recent losing streak.

After consecutive losses, the Orlando Magic played the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night at the Kia Center and won 114-106.

Just a couple of weeks ago, the Magic played the Nets in a 108-81 blowout win that started the team on a five-game win streak, and tonight, the team seemed to find its footing again in a dominant win.

Orlando was lights out from the field in the first half of tonight's game, hitting over 61 percent of its shots from the field and shooting over 57 percent from three-point range.

Leading the way for the Magic in that first half were Jalen Suggs, Franz Wagner, and Wendell Carter Jr., who each had 11 points at the break.

However, the game's leading scorer at the time was Cam Thomas, who had 15 points and helped Brooklyn get into a competitive game after two quarters. The team trailed 61-54 because it hit just 25 percent of threes and shot just over 44 percent from the field.

Unfortunately for Thomas, the game never favored the Nets, as Orlando would lead the entirety of the game with all five starters and a couple of bench players scoring in double digits. All Star Paolo Banchero also had his first perfect shooting performance of his pro career going 6-6 from the field and leading that game in scoring with 21 points.

Next up for the Magic is the Toronto Raptors (23-42) on the road this Friday at 7:30 pm EST. Orlando will play Toronto in consecutive games, with the following one on Sunday back at the Kia Center.

Now, the team will attempt to best its previous five-game winning streak, which started against Brooklyn, with 16 games remaining before the NBA Playoffs.
