TV Host Zak Bagans Buys Magic Star Paolo Banchero Rookie Card For Hefty Price
The Orlando Magic has enjoyed a lot of success so far this season, and a lot of it comes as a result of some great play from second-year star Paolo Banchero.
As a result of his great play, Banchero's basketball cards will be going for more and more money, especially his rookie cards. And in a recent auction, paranormal investigator Zak Bagans bought one of his rookie cards for $160,000.
Bagans is the star and host of the Travel Channel series Ghost Adventures, and has a museum full of haunted artifacts in Las Vegas. But not a lot of people know that he is also a sports buff.
He spent a large sum of money at Goldin Auctions to get a 1/1 Rookie of the Year card signed by Banchero that he thinks could be worth a lot more down the road. If the Magic wins a championship or Banchero wins the Most Valuable Player award down the road, Bagans believes that the card could be worth millions.
Wagner, Banchero Expected to 'Lead the Charge' for Magic as Playoffs Near
With how much the young forward has improved from his rookie year to his sophomore year is already jaw-dropping. So if he is able to continue that improvement and build on his already impressive career, then Bagans' card could skyrocket in value.
Banchero and the rest of the Magic will be back in action at home on Wednesday against Mikal Bridges and the Brooklyn Nets. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET from the Kia Center.
