Pacers Hand Magic 2nd Straight Loss
ORLANDO - The Orlando Magic (37-27) played against the Indiana Pacers (35-29) in a game that featured big leads by both teams but ultimately ended with the Pacers winning 111-97.
After a five-game winning streak, the Magic entered the game, coming off a loss on the road against the New York Knicks, and failed to bounce back at the Kia Center.
Orlando dominated the game early on, holding onto the lead the entire first half and, at one point, even leading by 15. However, later in the second quarter, the Pacers would begin gaining momentum. At halftime, the Magic led by three points, 50-47, in part thanks to the contributions of Franz Wagner, who led his team with 11 points.
Unfortunately for Orlando, Indiana would stay hot in the third quarter while the Magic ironically seemed to disappear.
Orlando would score 21 points in the third quarter, watching its lead slip away as the Pacers outscored them by 18 points and took control of the game for the first time.
Indiana was a force on the fastbreak, outscoring the Magic by 25-0, and would maintain its lead in the fourth quarter despite some flashes of life from the Magic, where Orlando would cut into the lead.
